Phoebe Bridgers covers Nirvana's 'Lithium' for BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge
The episode was recorded before Bridgers was forced to postpone the remainder of her UK shows this week due to appendicitis.
Phoebe Bridgers has covered Nirvana's 'Lithium' for BBC Radio 1's Live Lounge.
During the session, she also performed 'Bobby' and 'Lost Boys' from her new album, Lost Weekend.
Bridgers has a history of recreating Nirvana's work; her trio boygenius reimagined a Nirvana Rolling Stone photo shoot in 2023 for their own cover story. Later that year, Dave Grohl joined them onstage at the Hollywood Bowl for a performance of the record's 'Satanist.'
While the Live Lounge session was played on August 19, it was recorded beforehand, as Bridgers announced earlier that day that she had been hospitalised with appendicitis.
The singer-songwriter has been in the UK for a series of intimate album-release launch shows, and will be back in the UK and Ireland later this year with her arena shows starting off with two dates at the 3Arena, Dublin.
She will have just under a month to recover before she is due to kick off the North American leg of The Lost Tour at the Gainsbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis on September 14.
Tomorrow, it will be revealed whether her latest solo album could become her first-ever solo UK No.1 after it led the way in the top spot during the midweek update, followed closely behind by The Script.
