Mac DeMarco Addresses MGMT Collaboration Speculation

Mac DeMarco has addressed the speculation surrounding a potential collaboration with MGMT on his new record. The rumours stem from this photo showing him in studio with MGMT's Andrew VanWyngarden.

Speaking to Spin magazine DeMarco said, "He lives in the same neighborhood as me, so we’re homies. I don’t know, maybe I should leave it as a mystery. I’m not recording on any MGMT albums, just my own record, but who knows?".
While its not direct confirmation it is certainly adding fuel to the fire. The studio in the photo above also appears to be same home recording set up MGMT have documented themselves using recently.

On Christmas Day last year MGMT tweeted that they would be releasing new material in 2016. They said, "2016 is the year MGMT re-dominates your mind hole". Their most recent album was a self titled release in 2013. Mac DeMarco's most recent album, Another One, was released last year.
