Lucien Revolucien to introduce screening of Les Lascars at the IFI
The hugely influential French hip-hop artist, who wrote the score for the film, will be in attendance at the November 27 screening.
He will take part in a Q&A after the film, as well as attend the French Hip-Hop after party at the IFI bar.
Lucien Revolucien (also known as ‘Papalu’) is a French hip-hop artist who was hugely influential in the hip-hop movement in France in the 1990s. He has been affiliated with the Native Tongues Posse; a group that includes A Tribe Called Quest, Jungle Brothers, De La Soul, Queen Latifah, and Black Sheep, and with The Beatnuts.
The film, Les Lascars (Round Da Way), was directed by Albert Pereira-Lazaro and Emmanuel Klotz and features graffiti-influenced animation and two crook friends scheming to earn some quick cash. The adult-geared animation is based on a popular TV series that started in 2000 on Canal Plus and was turned into a comic book.
Friday’s screening is at 8.30pm, and there will be an additional screening on Saturday 28 November at 9.45pm.
