Stop press: Eminem confirms second Punchestown show - and tickets are already on sale. Read on for details and relevant phone numbers. Quick!
Eminem's two Punchestown Racecourse shows have sold-out today in under six hours.
"The Irish people have been extremely supportive of me and I'm delighted to be coming to Ireland for the first time," enthuses the rapper whose per capita record sales are higher here than anywhere else in the world.
Tickets were originally due to go on sale on Saturday February 8, but this was brought forward 24 hours on Garda advice.
Explained a spokesman: "Due to current inclement weather conditions being experienced across the country, it would be inappropriate and unsafe to have thousands of fans queuing outside overnight."
The scramble for tickets was equally frantic in the UK, with his Milton Keynes Bowl and Glasgow Hampden Park stop-offs selling-out in 16 and 45 minutes respectively. There's no word yet on support acts but expect some big names including Eminem's latest protégé 50 Cent.
With sales of the 8 Mile soundtrack currently up around the seven million mark and five Grammy nominations for his 2002 output, Mr. Mathers' star remains firmly in the ascent.
