Cancel everything: with Nirvana, The Flaming Lips and DJ Shadow on tonight's No Disco, staying in is definitely the new going out
As is his usual Wednesday evening wont, Leagues O'Toole will be dealing up the best sounds around for our fabulous front-room delectation - including tunes from Nirvana, Fugazi, The Flaming Lips and Daemien Frost - on tonight's No Disco (N2).
Rocking the airwaves from 11.20pm will be new videos from Millionaire (the excellent Belgian quintet who supported Queens Of the Stone Age at the Ambassador last month), the brilliant DJ Shadow, Orchestra Baobab, and Hot Press' favourite Okies, The Flaming Lips. There's also an interview with brand-new Dublin eclect-o-pop trio The Tycho Brahe, rumoured to have been made - as was their debut album This Is - in various band members' bedrooms. Woo woo!
As if that weren't enough, get set for competitions to win copies of Bjork's new best-of collection and tickets to Blue States; a live clip from Fugazi's recent rock implosion in the Red Box; info on brand-new-and-already-legendary punk rock cookbook Document: The Story Of Hope; new animated wizardry from Del9 to accompany a newie from Daemien Frost - and last but inevitably not least, the video for Nirvana's "new" single 'You Know You're Right'. Ah, for it to be Wednesday every day...
