Nightclub and venue workers are urged to petition Minister Ahern.
Give Us The Night.Com, the independent lobby group campaigning for the modernisation of Ireland’s licensing laws, is calling on people adversely affected by the recently introduced 2.30am club closing time to make suggestions for inclusion in the pending Sale of Alcohol Bill.
The questions Give Us The Night.Com are asking of those working in the nightclub and gig industry are: Have your wages been cut? Have you lost a shift at work, or worse still, your job? Are your business’ profits down? Do restricted opening hours make it harder for your business/venue to make money? Has your club night had to finish? Do restrictive licensing laws make it difficult for your business to gain added sponsorship or advertising?
If the answer to any of these is “yes”, you’re urged to send an email under the subject heading of “Submission re: Sale of Alcohol Bill” to [email protected] or write to the Minister for Justice, Equality & Law Reform, Dermot Ahern, at 94 St. Stephen’s Green, Dublin 2.
