Meanwhile Adele holds off competition from herself on the albums chart!
LMFAO have knocked Jennifer Lopez from the top of the official Irish singles chart with their infectious 'Party Rock Anthem'. The song rises from No.3 to the chart summit this week just as the LA boys have been confirmed as support for Ke$ha at SummerJam in the 02 this June. The song also hit the top spot in the UK this week and the song's YouTube video has had nearly 20 million views. Lady Gaga's 'Judas' is the week's highest new entry at No.4 with other high new entries coming from The Kanyu Tree, Jessie J and bizarrely- Tracey Chapman, whose 'Fast Car' track is experiencing a new lease of life since a cover of it was sang at the weekend on Britain's Got Talent. American Idol judge Lopez, Adele and Snoop Dogg make up the rest of the Top 5 respectively.
Meanwhile on the album chart Adele continues to dominate, taking the top 2 positions this week. Her sophomore record '21' stays at Number 1 with her debut '19' coming in at Number 2. The London-born songstress's success is mirrored both in the UK and the US, gaining a twelth non-consecutive week at the top in her homeland whilst it's sales have topped 2 million. The rest of the Top 5 sees Foo Fighters, Mary Bryne and Glee switching positions from last week. New entries come from High Kings, Gorillaz and Fred.
On the Indie Albums Chart, Adele similarily dominates, with Declan O' Rourke, Bell X1 and High Kings occupying the rest of the Top 5. You can check out the full chart here.
