LISTEN: LCD Soundsystem & Guns N' Roses tipped to headline Coachella
James Murphy's mob have also released a new festive tune!
That world-renowned Paul Nolan lookalike, James Murphy, has reactivated LCD Soundsystem with a headlining turn at the Coachella Music Festival in California expected to be confirmed any day now.
Joining them in April will be a Guns N’ Roses line-up that will have both Axl and Slash in it. Who’ll be playing alongside them is not yet known.
Despite Slash telling Hot Press on several occasions that it would never happen, they’re then expected to play a whopping 25 North American football stadium shows plus a megabuck Las Vegas date. Sources suggest the band will be getting paid $3 million a night with top tier tickets $275. Full details will be revealed when Axl appears next week on Jimmy Kimmel Live.
The band’s enduring appeal is underlined by the fact that their ‘November Rain’ classic has been viewed over 496 million times on Vevo alone.
Murphy’s mob signaled their return with the Stephen’s Day release of ‘Christmas Will Break Your Heart’, a song that’s been knocking around since 2011 but was only polished off by the band last month.
Rarely has a song of theirs tugged quite so comprehensively at the heartstrings.
As for tour plans, we expect to see both outfits in Ireland at some point next year.
