Lisa O’Neill announces new EP and shares lead single
O’Neill is starting her Irish tour this autumn, concluding at Dublin’s Vicar Street in December.
Lisa O’Neill has announced the release of a new six-track EP The Wind Doesn't Blow This Far Right, set to release on November 19.
The Cavan-born songwriter also shared the lead single by the same name, available now with an accompanying video directed by Ellius Grace.
O’Neill began writing the track in November 2017, completing it in January 2025. She describes it as “a reaction to the unsettled times that we live in.”
The video features appearances from musicians Kae Tempest, Kevin Rowland, Spider Stacey of The Pogues and Iona Zajac plus Nigerian/Irish poet Feli Speaks, and actresses Olwen Fouéré and Hazel Doupe among others.
The EP also includes O’Neill’s version of Bob Dylan’s ‘All the Tired Horses’, recorded for the closing scene of the final episode of Peaky Blinders.
O’Neill will continue her touring schedule throughout Ireland this autumn, culminating in a headline show at Dublin’s Vicar Street on December 21.
It follows a busy run of shows in recent months – both in her own right, and also with The Pogues, celebrating the band and Shane McGowan’s legacy across the UK and North America.
Her most recent album, All of This Is Chance, topped the Irish Indie Chart in 2023. The album was named Album of the Year by Gideon Coe (BBC 6 Music).
