Slipknot confirms Sid Wilson's exit
The band's most recent live performance was in July 2025 at Inkcarceration, a music and tattoo festival in Ohio.
Slipknot has confirmed the exit of Sid Wilson.
The former DJ and Keyboardist had been part of the group for nearly 30 years.
"Effective immediately, Slipknot will no longer be associated with Sid Wilson," stated the band in an Instagram post, which has since been taken down. "We wish him the best in his future endeavours."
News of his departure was first reported in late July by TMZ, although the reason behind Wilson's sudden departure remains unclear.
Slipknot guitarist Jim Root posted a message the same day on his Instagram story set to the band's 2008 song, ' Til We Die,' a metal anthem about brotherhood, unwavering loyalty and the band's internal bond.
"Don't believe everything you read," Root wrote. "Stop. Think. Take a breath. Sit with it for a while. Maybe. Just maybe even wait until there's more information."
Wilson's exit comes after Craig Jones, former sampler and keyboardist, left the band in 2023 and Chris Fehn, former percussionist and backing vocalist, left in 2019.
Original drummer Joey Jordison died in 2021, while bassist, backing vocalist and co-founder Paul Gray died in 2020.
Slipknot's albums include Slipknot, Iowa, Vol. 3, All Hope Is Gone, 5: The Gray Chapter, We Are Not Your Kind and The End, So Far, which was released in 2022.
