Lillie's Bordello for sale
The Dublin nightclub scene was taken by surprise this week with the announcement that Lillie’s Bordello had been put up for sale. For many years the leading haunt of the music and showbiz fraternity in the city, the late-night hangout has latterly been challenged by the Robbie Fox-run Renards..
The club’s sister restaurant, Judge Roy Beans is also up for sale, completing what is likely to be an attractive package for prospective entertainment biz investors. The complex has been operated by the Egan brothers, who also own and run Bruxelles, the highly successful Harry St. hostelry.
Lillie’s and Renards have both been victim of the increasing vigilance in relation to after hours drinking, both having been before the courts in this regard during the past twelve months. The smoking ban has also adversely affected some late night establishments, another factor that may explain the decision to put the club on the market.
