Lillies Bordello fined €4000
The Dublin club was fined following the discovery of people on the premises after hours
Infamous Dublin nightclub Lillies Bordello was fined €4000 by the Dublin District Court following the discovery by gardai of people on the premises long after closing time on two consecutive nights.
The court heard that 60 people were found upstairs at the club on March 16 2003 at 4.40am, and that 100 people were found upstairs at sister pub Judge Roy Beans on March 17 2003 at 4.25am. The latter group were attending a party for BBC chat show host Patrick Kielty.
According to The Irish Times, Judge Timothy Lucey told Lillies manager Valerie Roe: "If you are too genteel to put out your famous customers, that is tough. Your club is subject to the same strictures as everybody else and if not, then frog march them off and call the gardai."
Ardclose Taverns Ltd, the company that owns both Lillies and Judge Roy Beans, already has three previous convictions for after hours drinking.
In other news, Renards owner Robbie Fox was fined €1250 after six people were found in on the premises at 4.50am on March 16 2003. The club already has one endorsement on its licence.
