The Auteurs further embellish their burgeoning reputation with this excellent track. Moody vocals purr over guitar-spun melodies with the rhythm section ensuring a vibrant upbeat pulse. The tune builds to a credible climax and then ends, the listener left slightly stunned and to some extent overwhelmed.

This release will hopefully go some way towards restoring the credibility of the much-maligned item that is the indie-single. For The Auteurs themselves it could mark the change from being merely the darlings of the music critics and purists to becoming a very important band indeed. Whether the radio music controllers will help this process along is another matter, but this has “hit” written all over it.
