Former Brockhampton member Bearface returns as Ciarán with debut single

Ciarán, formally known as Bearface from hip-hop collective Brockhampton, has recently released his debut single 'K-Bar' via Ninja Tune.

The Irish producer and singer-songwriter made his return last week by unveiling his new website. It featured a short audio clip of a piano melody and a message from Ciarán, "I really and truly appreciate every single person who has remained excited at even the prospect of me coming back and releasing something".

The Belfast musician has an extensive music history, first uploading on Soundcloud in 2011. He would go on to be the opening act for The 1975 in 2013, before finally joining Brockhampton in 2016.

He quickly became known by fans for his ballad at the end of all three albums on the Saturation trilogy; WASTE, SUMMER and TEAM. Brockhampton's final album, The Family, named him as an executive producer. The album ended up reaching No.1 on the US Billboard 200s.

Brockhampton disbanded in 2022, with frontman Kevin Abstract stating "we all love each other and we wanna continue making the best music we can everybody just getting a lil older and got a lot to say outside of group projects" via X.

Ciarán's sold-out debut live show will be hosted in Christ and St Stephen's Church, New York City, on August 6.
