Sister Ghost announces live album and Japan tour
In 2019, Sister Ghost was named Best Live Act at the Northern Ireland Music Prize. She has shared stages with the likes of Snow Patrol, Fontaines D.C., Pussy Riot, We Are Scientists and Batboys.
Shannon Dolores O'Neill's art-rock musical project, Sister Ghost, has announced a new live record titled The Undead Tapes!, out October 28, and a tour of Japan set for next month.
The album was recorded in Belfast's Waterfront Hall, as well as a bonus track recorded in The Silverlake Lounge in Los Angeles.
It follows the Derry artist's EP Oracle, dropped in April. Her last full-length release was in 2024 with her debut album Beyond The Water - which was a finalist for the Northern Ireland Music Prize Album of the Year 2025.
Her tour of Japan will include 3 different cities, with the final show being a slot at the Too Hot To Be Cool x Loud Women festival in Shinjuku Marz, Tokyo.
"It's an honour to be the first of my family tree to travel to Japan, I never in a million years thought it would happen, nevermind being invited there for my music!" Sister Ghost said.
"Myself and the band are really looking forward to it and I will be flying the flag for Derry for sure. I'd also like to acknowledge and thank the Arts Council of Northern Ireland for their support via their SIAP Travel Fund."
Sister Ghost is a DIY solo project fusing 90s alt-rock, grunge and gothic pop. O'Neill writes solitary demos, sings and play instruments, before bringing a full band into the fold for her live shows.
In 2019, Sister Ghost was named Best Live Act at the Northern Ireland Music Prize. She has shared stages with the likes of Snow Patrol, Fontaines D.C., Pussy Riot, We Are Scientists and Batboys.
