Celebrated fiddler Kevin Burke and guitarist Cal Scott have announced a gig in Whelan's in July, featuring songs from their critically acclaimed album Across the Black River

Burke is best known from his early days with the ground-breaking Bothy Band in the mid-70s and his tours with folk quartet Patrick Street. He is joined in Whelan's on July 6 by American multi-instrumentalist and composer Cal Scott.

Tickets, €26, are available now from the usual outlets.
