Josh Ritter added to Oxegen

Ireland's favourite son of Idaho Josh Ritter will be performing at this summer's Oxegen festival on July 9 and 10.

Recently topping three Hot Press Readers' Poll categories - International Male, International Songwriter and Folk/Trad/World Music - Ritter's appearance at Punchestown should provide a big drawcard for his sizable fanbase here.

Ritter's currently in Seattle where he's recording the follow-up to Hello Starling, which - for those who still don't have their copy - has just been repackaged as a limited edition double pack with a bonus live disc.

The live disc, which is also available as an EP titled Four Songs, includes songs recorded during Ritter's Irish tour last summer. Both recordings are out now on Independent Records.
