Jonathan Coulton announces Whelans gig
Geeky Brooklyn folk-rocker Jonathan Coulton has just confirmed a special performance at Whelans this October
A former computer programmer made famous for his Geeky subject matter, singer-songwriter Coulton is an undeniable Internet sensation. Between 2005 and 2006 he wrote, recorded, and published a new song every week as a free podcast project called “Thing a Week.”
A number of Jonathan’s songs have become full-fledged internet hits: his folk-rock cover of Sir Mix-a-Lot's "Baby Got Back” the unrequited love of a mad scientist in “Skullcrusher Mountain,” and "Code Monkey," the anthem for software designers everywhere.
