James reform for spring tour
There’s good news for James fans with the baggy pioneers reforming for a series of gigs, which takes in a Dublin Olympia date on April 17.
Tickets priced between €41.20 and €46.20 go on sale at 9am on Friday February 2.
The reunion stems from an impromptu jam session founder members Jim Glennie, Larry Gott and Tim Booth [pictured right] had recently in their native Manchester.
“Things just clicked,” Glennie enthuses. “The stuff sounded amazing. Something special happens when the three of us play together. I don’t understand it and I don’t want to, but it was inspired, exciting and complete. With my hand on my heart, I can honestly say I’ve never been as excited by a period in James’ history as now.”
Sticking with cult ‘80s outfits and Hotpress was saddened to hear of the pre-Christmas death of Mega City 4 mainman Wiz who featured in the magazine on several occasions.
Therapy?’s Andy Cairns joins Carter USM, Ned’s Atomic Dustbin, Midway Still, Reuben and Steve Lamacq in paying tribute to him on March 4 in the Carling Academy, Islington.
