James Murphy to score upcoming film While We're Young
The producer teams up with the director Noah Baumbach for the movie starring Ben Stiller and Beastie Boys' Ad Rock.
James Murphy will be collaborating with Noah Baumbach, as he writes the score for the director's new film While We're Young. The film description given by The Film Stage tells a story of a middle-aged couple whose career and marriage breaks down when a younger couple come into their lives and stars Ben Stiller, Naomi Watts, Amanda Seyfried, Adam Driver and Beastie Boys' Adam (Ad Rock) Horovitz.
This isn't the first time Murphy and Baumbach have collaborated, with the pair working together for 2010's Greenberg.
This is just the latest batch of news in Murphy's not-so-quiet retirement from LCD Soundsystem. He just performed at Glastonbury with Despacio soundsystem, his collaborative project with Soulwax duo David and Stephen Dewaele and has spoken of his plans to format each New York subway station with a specific soundtrack, an effort to create an association with each stop to a specific sound.
