The Lobster and Song of the Sea win at European Film Awards
The two Irish features were just recognised for their fantastic work
On Saturday December 12, Irish films Song of the Sea and The Lobster won awars at the European Film Awards in Berlin.
Song of the Sea won 'Best European Animated Feature', while The Lobster 'Best Screenplay' and 'Best European Costume Designer'.
The European Film Awards are voted for among 3,000 members of the European Film Academy, all of which are notable individuals in the European industry.
This year, Song of the Sea was nominated for an Oscar for 'Best Animated Feature Film of the year' and an Annie Award for 'Best Animated Feature'. It won the 'Best Story' prize for Film Club's The Lost Weekend and 'Best Irish Feature Film' for Galway Film Fleadh.
Oppositely, The Lobster was nominated for 'Best Actor' and 'Best Director' for the British Independent Film Awards, and won the 'Jury Prize' at Cannes Film Festival.
