Irish filmmaker on Oscars longlist
The Missing Scarf has made it onto the ten-strong ‘Short Films & Feature Animation’ longlist for the Oscars.
“A black comedy that explores fears of the unknown”, it’s written and directed by Vancouver-based Dubliner Eoin Duffy and has George Takei, AKA Star Trek’s Mr. Sulu, as its narrator.
Duffy originally caused a stir in 2012 with On Departure, which tells the story of, “A lone traveller as he makes his way through an airport before finally accepting his journey's end.”
The Missing Scarf was premiered in July at the Galway Film Fleadh and also proved to be a big hit at the LA Short Fest.
