Imelda May Tops Irish Charts
Singer also sees Love Tattoo return to Top 5
Congratulations to Imelda May whose new album, Mayhem, has entered the Irish Album Charts at #1.
Indeed, it's been a great week for May as her first album, Love Tattoo, has moved up the charts to #4, making her the first Irish Female Artist to have two albums in the top 5.
On top of that, the Dublin born musician's Olympia Theatre performance on 15 December sold out this morning in seconds and so another date has been added for 16 December.
Here in Hot Press Towers we're not surprised by Imelda's success as Roisin Dwyer described Mayhem as "a superb collection of songs executed with unique panache and genuine warmth" in a recent issue of Hot Press.
Imelda says of her new album: "I'm over the moon with how Mayhem has turned out – I hope people enjoy it. I feel I've made the album I wanted that reflects the spectrum of all my influences from music past but is a record firmly in the here and now."
