Howard Marks memorial service to take place outside Leinster House on Wednesday
Organisers are planning a 21 Spliff Salute to Mr. Nice
Paradise Paddy, who served as Howard Marks’ Irish tour manager for the past seven years, is organising one final event for his old friend.
It’s a memorial service outside Leinster House at 4pm on Wednesday April 20.
“This 5-minute ceremony will show reverence and respect to a great advocate for liberal living in our lifetime,” says Paddy who’s planning a 21 Spliff Salute accompanied by 70 bongs, one for each year of Howard’s life. How that first part goes down with An Garda Síochána remains to be seen!
You’re also asked to bring a copy of Mr. Nice or a photo of Howard to hold aloft as another symbolic gesture to the former drug smuggler who graced the pages of Hot Press on many occasions.
