Hot Films 2015: Mad Max: Fury Road
"Oh, what a day! What a lovely day!"
Blockbuster
The newest installment in the action series that originally featured Mel Gibson in the title role looks like absolute madness. If you're in the mood for chaotic action, reckless driving, explosions, sandstorms, sand tornadoes, and ... sand, Mad Max: Fury Road is the movie for you.
With Tom Hardy filling Gibson's shoes and assuming the role of the road warrior, the actor continues to prove his diversity (just last year Hardy starred mostly alone in Locke, a highly acclaimed film set entirely in his car on a long drive). He is backed up by Charlize Theron and Nicholas Hoult, both almost unrecognizable. George Miller, director of the original trilogy, returns to direct this chapter.
The trailer, set to the tune of Verdi's gloriously ominous 'Requiem', makes it look like this take on the dystopian, post-apocalyptic desert world of Mad Max captures all the pulpy, punky chaos and escapist fun of the original movies from the late 70's and 80's.
Check it out below and look for Mad Max: Fury Road in theaters on May 15.
