Help Russian orphans by having fun with leprechauns!
Next Sunday, March 14, Irish based charity the Perm Children’s Fund will be hosting a quirky tongue ‘n’ cheek sports derby in Dublin which promises to be a great laugh and raise some much needed money for Russian orphans.
There’s going to be a ‘lovely leprechauns’ beauty pageant, to find the finest lads in the land! But the event’s organisers are remaining coy about the details of this ‘magical and dangerous' derby and we’ve been trying to imagine what the ‘mystery of the Emerald Isle and not so lucky charms’ event entails..or why a leprechaun might need the paramedics? Sounds intriguing, all will be revealed on Sunday at 1.30pm in Terenure VEC/ sports grounds (D6).
Entitled ‘The Lord of the Leprechauns’ this day of mayhem and magic is recruiting team members at the moment, so anyone can take part and raise a few bucks for this important and worthwhile cause; helping orphans and having a laugh is a day well spent, eh? Details about the charity itself can be found on their website www.permkids.org, but for details on the 'Lord of the Leprechauns' event next Sunday you must contact the mother of all leprechauns himself, Dermot Brannick, on 087 9909 520, or email him directly at [email protected].
The Perm Children's Fund is run by a group of young Dubliners, in association with Loves Bridge (www.lovesbridge.com), who saw the street kids' suffering first hand, in Perm, Russia. Through devotion, hard work and endless enthusiasm this small charity has raised thousands to help keep children of Perm off the streets and away from crime, drugs and prostitution. All money raised on the day goes to the charity; it only cost a few quid to enter, and nothing to be a spectator so why not join in?
See you there, lovely leprechauns and leprechaunettes!
