He Is Dead

Raw Novembre: “He Is Dead” (Aggressive Records)

Released on the aptly named Aggressive Records this single from Raw Novembre illustrates both the band’s strengths and weaknesses. A powerful mix of heavily distorted guitar and bass is ably augmented by frenzied activity on the drum kit. The vocals are functional but the song is let down by one moment where it all goes horribly wrong. For about twenty-five seconds the song is converted into a Pomp-Rock extravaganza that shows the song-writing naivete which must be overcome if the band are to progress.
