Hawkwind gig in Dublin & Belfast
The whiff of patchouli oil promises to be overwhelming in May when veteran psychedelic warlords Hawkwind play the Ambassador, Dublin (4) and the Limelight, Belfast (5).
Apart from somehow getting to number one in the early '70s with 'Silver Machine', the UK outfit have always operated out on the margins and have a huge cult following. One of their old boys is Lemmy who, after being fired on the band, went on to form the even more uncompromising Motorhead.
