Hancock Confirmed for Cork
Jazz and funk legend Herbie Hancock has confirmed a show in Cork, an additional date on what will be his first Irish performances in 13 years
In addition to his own string of successful records, Hancock is one of the most widely-sampled artists of all time. Only James Brown has been sampled more on modern hiphop, funk and dance hits.
Herbie plays the Savoy in Cork on Tuesday November 11, the night before he plays the Tripod Dublin, as part of the Heineken Greeen Synergy festival (Wednesday November 12).
Tickets for the Cork show are €40 excluding booking fee.
Hancock's album River: The Joni Letters won the 2008 Grammy for Best Contemporary Jazz Album and took the Album of the Year accolade - only the second jazz album ever to win the Album of the Year Award.
