Lauren Guillery will play an acoustic set at the Bring The Toys event in Twisted Pepper on Saturday December 12.
This charity event collects toys and money for Crumlin and Temple Street Childrens' hospitals. To gain entry you can either bring a new unwrapped toy to the value of €10 (or more), or pay €10 (or more) at the door. Guillery will perform on The Mezz stage run by the Comic Cast crew where the comic gallery All I Ever Wanted for Christmas will also take place. The night kicks off 10.30pm.
Meanwhile, Guillery is also campaigning to raise awareness about Tinnitus, an ear condition that affects people exposed to loud levels of noise, including musicians. Guillery is personally affected by it due to going to too many gigs and turning her amp too loud while practising. As she told Hot Press, "I feel I have to spread the word about the condition to avoid other people from getting it. For the past couple of months, I have been in touch with the Irish Tinnitus Association and I will be doing a fundraiser gig for them on December 18 upstairs in Whelans to raise awareness and advice re prevention." Free foam earplugs will be supplied, and support will come from the eight-piece bluegrass The Lazy Band from Dublin, and Swanee River from Belfast.
Guillery will also be opening for The Futurist Theatre in Crawdaddy on December 15, and will play in Shebeen Chic on Georges Street, Dublin on December 19.
