Gorillaz Collaborating With Rapper Vic Mensa
Damon Albarn has promised a new record from the fictional band by the end of the year.
Chicago hip hop artist Vic Mensa has been in studio with Gorillaz creator, Damon Albarn. A new album from the animated group is well in to production and other collaborators on it include Liam Bailey, Jamie Hewlett and French composer Jean Michel Jarre.
Now it seems that we can add rapper Vic Mensa to the list after Remi Kabaka posted an image of Mensa in a recording studio in The Windy City. Kabaka is the voice actor for the fictional Gorillaz band member Russell Hobbs and is the long time producer for the group.
Collaborator for visuals Jamie Hewlett has been teasing fans with Instagram posts and videos of new artwork of the band members as well glimpses in to the studio. Yesterday he posted a photo with the caption "Goodbye Chicago". The last studio album released by Gorillaz was 2010's Plastic Beach.
