Ger Eaton set to release debut album Season Changes this month
Eaton will perform a special show in The Studio at the National Concert Hall on October 23.
Irish multi-instrumentalist and songwriter Ger Eaton is set to release his debut solo album Season Changes on October 24.
A launch show is set for the night before, October 23, at The Studio in the National Concert Hall, Dublin.
Eaton is known for his work as a member of The Pale, Premonition (EMI), Las Vegas Basement (Columbia), Les Marionettes, Pugwash, The Carnival Brothers and many solo and collaborative recordings. He has toured and collaborated with artists including Mundy, Duke Special, Jack L and Fionn Regan.
He describes Season Changes as an “old-fashioned break-up record.” The album explores the emotional and physical complexities of the end of a long-term relationship, using the changing seasons as a thematic guide.
“The songs were written and recorded towards the end of my marriage,” said Eaton. “I decided from the off that the lyrics would be raw and honest; I felt I owed that much to myself. Musically, I wanted the arrangements and instrumentation to bring a lushness and drama that would wrap the words in an appropriate musical cloak.”
Produced, recorded and mixed by Ger Eaton alongside Duncan Maitland and Sean Coleman, the album was recorded across various studios in Ireland.
Tickets for the album launch show at The Studio in the National Concert Hall on October 23 are on sale here.
