Genre Free launched in The Button Factory
The six acts involved played outstanding sets.
There was a great turnout yesterday for the launch of Hot Press and NDT Productions’ Genre Free album, which went live at 10pm last night on www.hotpress.com/genrefree and can now be downloaded for free.
All six of the acts – Kid Karate, Frederick & The Golden Dawn, Fox Jaw Bounty Hunters, Izzy Quinn, The Dirty 9s and The Fibbs – performed Jools Holland-style across two stages.
Officially launching the 12-track compilation, which was recorded in Dublin’s Sound Training Centre, Hot Press Assistant Editor Stuart Clark asked fans to “tweet, Facebook and generally social media the fuck out of the album so we can spread the world worldwide. These are great, all very different sounding Irish acts that deserve to be heard.”
Stay tuned to hotpress.com for details of how you can be on Genre Free 2, which will be coming out early in 2013.
