Fontaines D.C.'s Romance among UK's Top 5 best-selling vinyl albums of 2024

The best-selling vinyl albums of 2024 in the UK have been revealed – with Fontaines D.C.'s Romance claiming the No.5 spot.

The Irish band's lauded fourth album clocked up 42,100 vinyl sales in the UK. Upon its release in April 2024, Romance debuted at No.2 on the Albums Charts on both sides of the Irish Sea, and went on to score two nominations for the upcoming Grammy Awards, for Best Rock Album and Best Alternative Music Performance (for 'Starbuster').

Back in November, the album also won the Album Award at the Rolling Stone UK Awards – and, most recently, was named Hot Press's No.1 Album of the Year.

Topping the list of the UK's Official Top 40 best-selling vinyl albums of 2024 is Taylor Swift with The Tortured Poets Department, with 112,000 sales on vinyl. The Top 5 also includes Oasis's Definitely Maybe (No.2), Chappell Roan's The Rise And Fall Of A Midwest Princess (No.3), and Sabrina Carpenter's Short n' Sweet (No.4).

On the list of the UK's best-selling vinyl singles of 2024, meanwhile, U2 claimed the No.27 spot with 'Atomic City'.
