Farmleigh has launched a summer-long international cultural programme which will include music, visual arts, food, gardening and literature.
The sixth annual programme begins its diverse events on July 7 with a concert by Bulgaria's Eva Quartet. The international festival runs from July to September, during which audiences can enjoy music recitals, gardening showcases, food appreciation courses, poetry readings, and art.
Guests can also enjoy the gardens, gallery and house, which will be open to the public to enjoy.
All the events are free, but the public must contact Farmleigh for tickets. A full listing of all events, hours and ticket details can be found at www.farmleigh.ie. Selected highlights from this year's summer line up include:
- Readings and classes from Polish poet and critic Jerzy Jarniewicz
- A mini-festival of world music featuring the queen of Brazilian bossa nova, Joyce
- The Farmleigh Salon Series with international acts the Eva Quartet (Bulgaria), Iarla O Lionaird (Ireland), the Moscow Art Trio (Russia) and Debashish Bhattacharya (India)
-Food lectures and demonstrations with Cornucopia chefs Tony Keogh and Claire McCormick, RTE's Derek Davis and TV3's Catherine Leyden
- Children's events including a Polish circus, storytelling and readings
