Ellie Goulding Tops Albums
For the week ending February 6.
Current Hot Press cover girl Ellie Goulding is still at number one on the album chart with her Halycron Days, clearly the anticipation for her big Dublin date is continuing to rise.
The top three is filled in by Hot Press favourites Koaline at two (up from five) with In A Perfect World, they recently received their award from IMRO for their debut going to number one. At three (down from two) Is The Boss Bruce Springsteen with High Hopes.
The only new entry in the Top 10 is Bombay Bicycle Club’s So Long, See You Tomorrow which comes in at eight.
The biggest gain in the chart is Bruno Mars’ Unorthodox Jukebox which climbs an amazing 28 places from 40 to 12. Who says the Superbowl doesn’t help record sales?
Other new entries on the chart include Blame It All On My Roots by the Croke Park conquering Garth Brooks at 16, and The Kings Of Leon’s Mechanical Bull at 23.
Seems there is no stopping Ellie Goulding at the moment. Unless Garth Brooks releases a new album or something…
