The last day of Electric Picnic was marked by sunny skies and chilled-out vibes.
With revellers revelling until the wee hours of the morning, things got off to a slow start at Stradbally, aided gently by the Dublin Gospel Choir returning again this year to brush off hangovers with their soulful music.
The legendary The Blue Nile took to the main stage soon after, even causing Guy Garvey from Elbow to comment during their set which followed: "I can't believe we're sharing the same stage as The Blue Nile".
In the Big Tree stage, Duke Special competed with the All-Ireland hurling final to entertain the masses, and while Corkian festival goers returned from the Cinema tent none too pleased, it was all forgotten with The Rapture's impressive performance at the Electric Arena.
In the Hot Press chat room, Mr Special, Elbow and Josh Ritter were interviewed in fine style, with Josh Ritter even recalling an interesting tale about an Irish fan who caught a ripped jacket he threw into a crowd once, and returned it to him months later, repaired, but sewn with her own hair. Hmm....
With Basement Jaxx rounding things off on the main stage, and Laurent Garnier ending the festival proper, one could only hope that next year's festival will again elongate by a day. Bring it on!
