Edwyn Collins on the mend
Edwyn Collins has made a remarkable recovery from his recent brain hemorrhage, his wife announced to fans this week
There’s good news on the Edwyn Collins front with the former Orange Juice man’s wife confirming that he’s “virtually out of danger” following his recent cerebral hemorrhages.
“This is the most relaxed I’ve felt about giving out news since this all began,” Grace Maxwell continues. “We are organising his next move, to intensive neuro rehabilitation, which should happen in the next few weeks at the latest. He’s beaten the odds already and I fully expect him to go on in his customary stubborn manner. His doctors are delighted and a bit confounded at his progress.”
Following Orange Juice’s break-up in the mid-‘80s, Collins embarked on a solo career that peaked commercially with the Motown aping ‘A Girl Like You’. Although a Scot, he attained honorary membership of the London Murphia when he signed to Setanta Records and produced the likes of A House and The Frank And Walters.
A man of diverse talents, Collins also created the West Heath Yard sitcom for Channel 4.
