Dublin Pride parade details announced
The LGBTQ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer) community will be out of the closet in full force on 23 June, when the annual Pride parade takes place.
The parade will follow its usual route, starting at the Garden of Remembrance and winding its way down O’Connell Street; across College Green and up Dame Street until it gets to its destination of the DCC Civic Offices Amphitheatre just behind Christchurch.
Prior to the climax, two weeks of the Dublin Pride Festival will begin on 3 June.
Featuring events as diverse as poetry readings and a Girls Night in the Temple Bar Music Centre, the theme this year is 'Pride 'n' Joy': using celebration as a positive medium to get the message of equality across.
For more info on the events, see www.dublinpride.org.
