DMX reschedules Dublin shows
DMX has announced new dates for his two Dublin shows, having been released on bail after his arrest at the weekend
There's good news for DMX fans today with the rapper rescheduling his European tour, including the two Dublin shows that were cancelled at the weekend.
DMX, aka Earl Simmons, has been released on bail following charges of drugs and weapon possession, and is due to reappear at Queens Criminal Court on July 23.
As such, he will now play the Ambassador Theatre on July 13 and 14. This means that tickets already purchased for Sunday's sold out gig (June 27) will be valid for July 13 and tickets for the July 28 show are valid for July 14.
Full refunds are available for people who cannot make the rescheduled shows and any remaining tickets will go on sale this Friday, July 2, at 9am (€40). Please note that anyone who has already had original tickets refunded will have to buy them again on Friday. MCD apologizes for any inconveniences caused.
DMX was arrested last Friday at New York's Kennedy Airport, following what appeared to have been an extreme case of parking lot rage. According to reports, the rapper attempted to pass himself off as a federal agent, activating his car's flashing lights and siren and crashing through the boom gate in pursuit of a car that had allegedly "cut him off". He allegedly told the parking lot attendant, "Let us out. We're federal agents." DMX was later found by police trying to pull the other driver from of his car, claiming that he was an FBI agent.
He and his companion, Jackie Hudgins, were both released on US$15,000 bail after being charged with possession of a weapon and a controlled substance (crack cocaine). According to the Associated Press, DMX was also charged with criminal mischief, impersonation, menacing, driving under the influence, and endangering the welfare of a child.
DMX and Hudgins were both released on US$15,000 bail and, if convicted, could face up to seven years in prison.
