Conor McGregor gets celebs all a-twitter
Niall Horan, Jamie Heaslip and Arnold Schwarzenegger among those thrilled by UFC's hottest property
If you bump into the Trinity Street massive this morning and wonder why there's big black bags under our eyes, it's largely down to the UFC phenom that is Conor McGregor.
At about 5.30 am, the UFC's hottest property took to the octagon to dispose of Dennis Siver and set up a monstrous clash against lightweight beltholder Jose Aldo. Unsurprisingly, there was more than a few familiar names who eschewed a night's sleep to watch the Crumlin man, and they took to Twitter both before and after the fight to sing the praises of The Notorious one.
Cmon @TheNotoriousMMA , can't wait for this fight ! @ufc #UFCBoston ! "We didn't come to take part, we came to take over"

Congrats to the McGregor-nator @TheNotoriousMMA on terminating another opponent. Can't wait for your world championship fight. I'll be there
— Arnold (@Schwarzenegger) January 19, 2015
There was, however, some bad news for Irish fans; McGregor's title shot will be taking place in Vegas, as opposed to Croke Park. UFC supremo Dana White conceded that "there's a lot of obstacles" preventing an event in Croke Park, including - but not limited to - the time difference, a curfew for late-night events, and the financial demands of staging the event.
