The legendary Irish singer is said to be receiving medical treatment, allaying the immediate concerns about her well-being...
A post by Sinead O’Connor on her Facebook page earlier this evening sparked widespread concern for the singer’s health and well-being. However, Hot Press understands that the Gardaí at Pearse Street Station in Dublin have subsequently confirmed that the singer has been located and is receiving medical treatment.
One of the greatest and most important Irish artists of the past thirty years, the now 48 year-old Dublin native took to social media to express her deep anguish about a variety of personal issues.
The post, which contained deeply moving and emotional, as well as highly charged, statements has since been removed from the Facebook page. Rather than repeating material here, which was likely written at a moment of supreme vulnerability, we are relieved to report that the current word is that she is receiving treatment.
Sinéad, who recently underwent a hysterectomy, has spoken publicly in the past about her ongoing battle with mental health issues.

The singer recently published a post on her Facebook account, stating that she was quitting the music industry for good, claiming it had rendered her “invisible.”
We can only say that Sinéad’s work over the past many years will always rank among the most important and enduring in the Irish canon. If she were to retire, it would be a huge loss to music – and to her millions of fans all over the world. Clearly her health and her well-being are of the most immediate, pressing importance. That she should lead a healthy, fulfilling and happy life trumps all other considerations. But the immense value of her work as an artist of the highest standing should never be left in any doubt.
We send our best wishes and the hope that she will return to full health soon.
