Cannibal Ox cancel European tour
Due to play the Village tonight, Cannibal Ox are holed up in NY due to "baseless" legal troubles
Cannibal Ox have cancelled their entire European tour and issued a statement outlining "unfortunate legal troubles" that have befallen Vordul. The duo were scheduled to play in Dublin’s Village tonight.
The announcement – which is issued by Vordul and Vast Aire Kramer themselves – cites Verdul’s "baseless trouble with NYPD", and explains that a rescheduled court appearance has meant that he is unable to leave the country.
The statement reads "The racist American justice system does not care that he is an internationally known performer with fans to please, and shows to rock... all they see is another black man from Harlem who was in the wrong place at the wrong time."
They express their apologies for disappointing fans – "the bedrock upon which Ox has been built" - and refer to rocking for them in the unspecified future.
Refunds will be available at the point of ticket purchase.
