Candi Staton for Whelan's

The Grammy Award-winning soul legend is set to headline a night in Whelan’s on February 12.

A native of Hanceville, Alabama, Staton was a ‘70s chart regular with the likes of ‘Young Hearts Run Free’, ‘Nights On Broadway’ and her take on ‘Suspicious Minds’, and won a whole new audience in the ‘90s with her contribution to The Source’s ‘You Got The Love’.

Style Council fans will also be interested to note that Paul Weller’s old mucker Mick Talbot is her current keyboard-player.
