Calling all jazz freaks!
Cork is gearing up for the 31st Jazz Festival.
Tickets went on sale yesterday for the 2009 Guinness Cork Jazz Festival, which takes place over the October bank holiday weekend, October 26-29.
Headliners include the legendary sax player Pharoah Sanders, drummer Jack DeJohnette and stunning vocalist Kurt Elling. The Everyman Palace will host a terrific double bill with The Bad Plus and The Sun Ra Arkestra on opening night, and festival venues will also feature artists such as Al DiMeola, Gilad Atzmon, The Hypnotic Brass Ensemble, Eldar, Peter Green, The Fun Lovin’ Criminals (pictured) and UK saxophonist Yolanda Brown.
