Buckcherry set for Ireland
Hard-rocking US band Buckcherry are to play Dublin and Belfast with a new album under their belt after a long break.
Buckcherry will play Dublin's Crawdaddy on September 3 and Belfast's The Limelight on September 4. The US band have returned after four years in the wilderness, promoting their new album Fifteen - so-called because it was recorded in fifteen intensive days in the studio.
Spearheaded by singer Josh Todd and guitarist Keith Nelson, Buckcherry broke through in 1999 with a riff-heavy debut album. But record company troubles and band splits almost finished their career two years later.
Todd and Nelson were re-invigorated by a collaboration with Slash and Duff McKagan (the project led the two Guns'N'Roses men to form Velvet Revolver), and decided to regroup. Fifteen was the result.
Nelson says he's relishing another crack at success: "That's the best thing about America. You can get a second chance, and I'm very grateful for it."
Tickets for the Dublin gig are €15, while the Belfast concert is £10.
