Blinded by the lights

Following the all conquering success of ‘Dry Your Eyes’, its hard to see where Mike Skinner goes immediately next. The reasoning behind releasing this particular track may be clear – shift the emphasis back to the tougher side of the Streets persona – but it flounders when taken out of context of the album’s overall story. Nor does the clumsy radio edit help, lopping a full ten seconds off by simply removing the swearwords. Great song, dodgy single.
