Plus the extra yard former NIN man Josh Freese is going to flog his album.
Penfold DM have come up with a cunning scheme to finance their debut album.
Cough up €15 now, and you’ll straight away get a free EP followed by a pre-release copy of the aforementioned CD, which will have your name on the inlay as an ‘Executive Producer’, and a bonus disc of other Penfold DM material. You’ll also be entered into a draw to win t-shirts, four iPOD Nanos and a date with their bass-player Jamie who’s yet to be consulted but, hey, he’ll do whatever it takes.
You can sign up to the offer by attending the band’s March 13 gig in the Dublin Sugar Club.
Meanwhile, on the other side of the Atlantic, former Nine Inch Nails man Josh Freese has his own novel ways of promoting his Since 1972 album and making some extra money into the bargain. For $50 you’ll get the CD, a t-shirt and a five-minute phone call from the drummer; a dinner date and a joint float in a sensory deprivation tank costs $500; for $1,000 he’ll clean your car or do your laundry; a trip to Disneyland with his Volvo station wagon thrown in for good measure weighs in at $10,000; and for $75,000 he’ll write a five song EP about your life, work as your personal assistant for a month, and take you on a magic mushroom-assisted cruise through Hollywood in Danny from Tool’s Lamborghini.
