The best, if you will, rockumentary since Spinal Tap can be seen as part of the Jameson Dublin International Film Festival.
The mighty Anvil will be in attendance on February 19 when Anvil! The Story of Anvil premieres in Cineworld as part of the Jameson Dublin International Film Festival.
The best rock ‘n’ roll movie since Spinal Tap, it tells the true story of the Canadian metal band who’ve been together for over 30 years, without scoring a commercial breakthrough.
Their nearly-classics include ‘Butter-Bust Jerky’, ‘Pussy Poison’, ‘Show Me Your Tits’ and ‘Hair Pie’ – and, no, they’re not a comedy act.
Anvil were sighted here in 1983 when they played support at Dalymount Park to Twisted Sister, Motorhead and a grim Ian Gillan-fronted version of Black Sabbath. Their mainman, Lips, got a huge cheer when he played his Flying V with a 12” vibrator. As you do.
