Says time with Blur frontman was case of 'don't meet your idol.'
Damon Albarn revealed in September that he had worked with Adele on sessions for her forthcoming third album and didn't exactly paint a glowing picture of the process, doubting that the songs they collaborated on would see the light of day and calling the Danger Mouse tracks he had heard "very middle of the road."
Oh, and he also called the 'Hello' singer insecure.
Now, in an interview with Rolling Stone, Adele has responded in similarly unflattering terms.
“It ended up being one of those ‘don’t meet your idol’ moments. The saddest thing was that I was such a big Blur fan growing up. But it was sad, and I regret hanging out with him.”
"None of it was right," she says of their material. "None of it suited my record.”
Regarding the "insecure" comment, she explains that she had merely asked him about juggling parenthood with a music career.
"It ended up being one of those ‘don’t meet your idol’ moments. The saddest thing was that I was such a big Blur fan growing up. But it was sad, and I regret hanging out with him."
Adele's comeback single, 'Hello' has just become the first song to be downloaded one million times in a week in the US. It is currently at No. 1 in the Irish Singles Chart. Parent album 25 is released on November 20.
